FAITH & VALUES

Here you'll find out what we believe and what we value

at Connecting Point Church

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Statement of Faith
  1. The Bible is the inspired Word of God

  2. Our God is One but manifested in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  3. Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world

  4. Salvation is the gift of God to man through faith in Jesus Christ.

  5. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and when experienced, produces eternal life.

  6. Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only.

  7. The Baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift and is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.

  8. We believe in sanctification, which is living a life of holiness.

  9. Healing is the privilege of every member of the Church today provided through Jesus’ death on the Cross.

  10. Jesus will return and “. . . The dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air . . .” (1 Thess. 4:16–17).” Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years (Rev. 5:10; 20:6).

  11. The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is eternally lost and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting

Values
  1. The preaching and teaching of God's Word to mature and equip each believer to fulfill His purpose (Eph. 4:11-16, 2 Tim. 3:16-17).

  2. The absolute liberty of the Spirit to move as He wills in our services and through our lives that His purposes may be accomplished (1 Thess. 5:19, 1 Cor 14:26).

  3. A strong sense of community and mutual responsibility for each other - a loving, warm family atmosphere where each person feels equally valued and loved (Psalm 68:6, Heb. 10:24-25, Phil. 2:1-4).

  4. An externally minded focus, where serving those outside the body and demonstrating the love of Christ is primary, that they might be won by our life as well as our words (Acts 1:4-8, Matt. 5:14-16).

  5. A mission-minded house that is busy carrying out the great commission, both locally and in the nations, through our involvement with and support of missions (Matt. 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20).
